the type of people who say this are also the type of people who say all classes should be pass/fail and kids should only go to school if they want to
if you’re dumb, then you’re dumb. sorry.
what if someone gets straight A’s and then bombs the SATS? Are they still dumb?
probably. do you know what grade inflation is?
that’s the whole point of standardized testing. every high school grades differently. in some places it’s a struggle just to maintain a B average, in others you’d have to be an idiot not to have a 4.0. you need a way to properly evaluate all students equally.
This test is about learning bullshit ass words that you’ll probably never use, with few exceptions. The reading comprehension is fucking retarded asking you for shit like text interpretations without regard to the fact that interpretations are what I fucking think the text is saying. The math part isn’t too bad, but the hard word problems at the end are kind of a miss or hit especially with the time you’re given, and since not everyone is a math genius and they take away points for wrong answers it’s kind of stupid.
The ACT is more of a standardized test because it’s a lot more straightforward. It’s not tricky questions like the stupid SAT, so you either know the material or you don’t. On top of that, they don’t take away fucking points. I feel like it’s so dumb to punish you for answers you got wrong. It really fucks you over. On the SAT you might as well know the material, but the way they word things and the type of questions they ask might as well not know anything.
I’ve seen plenty of dumb people get super good grades. I on the other hand did not and I would consider my knowledge to be a lot higher. It really isn’t a “if you’re dumb, then you’re dumb”! How then would you explain DUMB people doing great on the SAT? Does that make them smart now?
